This article investigates education in Ancient Rome, analyzing its structure, content, and social impact across different social classes. Through an analysis of primary sources (literary texts, epigraphy, archaeological remains) and secondary sources (historical and archaeological studies), the study aims to understand the complexity of the Roman educational system, comparing the education of elites with that of plebeian classes and the differential access of women to formal education. The research highlights the importance of rhetoric and grammar in the curriculum of the elites, contrasting it with the vocational training of plebeians. The conclusions demonstrate that education in Rome, despite social inequalities, played a crucial role in the formation of citizens, in the preservation of culture, and in the maintenance of political power, leaving a significant legacy for the history of Western education.
