Deforestation in the Amazon is a global problem and a cause for serious concern among environmentalists, politicians and ordinary citizens. As the world's largest rainforest faces rapid changes due to human activities, the impacts of these changes extend beyond regional borders, affecting the planet's ecological balance and climate stability. Therefore, this bibliographical study aims to deepen our understanding of deforestation in the Amazon and its consequences, causes and possible solutions by reviewing a variety of reliable and up-to-date sources. The Amazon is home to unrivalled biodiversity, including countless unique species of plants and animals. Many of these species have yet to be properly investigated. In addition, the Amazon rainforest plays an important role in regulating the global climate, acting as a carbon sink, absorbing carbon dioxide from the atmosphere and helping to stabilise weather patterns around the world. Significant changes in the Amazon ecosystem therefore have a direct impact not only on the region, but also on the planet as a whole. The study begins by analysing the causes. We look at factors such as agricultural expansion, logging and fires, and examine how these factors interact to create the problem of deforestation.
